Artist's Description
The soldier sits on the sidewalk under the 405 freeway at Wilshire Blvd. playing his horn for the commuters as they wait at the light at Sepulveda Blvd, in West Los Angeles, near the Veteran's Hospital. At rush hour, it can take 20 minutes to go a half mile to this location, just to get on the freeway to stop and go again. He is often there. He is happy. I found him there again when I was on the bus to get this shot. Some people make a big impression without really trying. Thanks for your service, Soldier.

About Jenny Revitz Soper
I have recently returned to my Kansas roots after living in Los Angeles for 45 years. I always carry my camera with me. I like to look beyond the ordinary to find something extraordinary - be it a clever juxtaposition, a contradiction, a burst of color, or a touch of whimsy. Photography is my way of expressing how I see the world. I capture what catches my eye in the moment. It's a spontaneous act, but not unconsidered. It's important to me and it's a foundational part of who I am. Through my photography, I stay true to myself and convey my authentic self. It is the vision of the artist that produces the art. I appreciate every method and technique an artist uses to achieve that vision. I sometimes use digital applications as well as...

Excellent capture in B&W, leaves a great impression on ones soul, Jenny. We can all learn from this soldier. 'Keep on playing your music", "never give up"...heart feeling, and in spite of the sadness of this situation, also very uplifting!!!
