Description
One of the more splendid homes in Independence Kansas, which is said to have had more millionaires per capita at the turn of the last century (1900) than any other city in the US. My mom said she thinks it was owned by the Moores of oil fame. Apparently the descendants all attend Thanksgiving here every year since it has a dining table that seats many. I don't know where they would get the food as there are no utilities there. Maybe that's an old Mom's tale.

This is nice. See the turret on the right side? I had a dream that I had a tower like that for my art studio. I drew a picture of it.

In addition to the banner, I am adding this more permanent recognition of its FEATURE on the homepage of A TREE OR TREES IN BLACK AND WHITE. I try mightily to feature only images that would be at home in a juried competition. No doubt that this image fits that bill. CONGRATULATIONS! And consider adding your image to DISCUSSIONS "Please post your featured photograph here" for greater, long-lasting visibility.

Am so in love with this home. In a dream, I can remodel it. Room to spread out. Amazing find, amazing capture. f/l/p
