Description

We were training for the 2010 Los Angeles Marathon while visiting family in Kansas. We ran 18 miles this day and it was cold!! Most of the time, I would look down at the road in front of me, but I looked up and saw the beauty of the country solitude.

This was taken on the back road in Riverside Park and Zoo, Independence Kansas. On the left, behind the fence, the deer and antelope play. No, really.

I see unmelted snow on the side of the road.. a sure sign of nippy if you ask me. I live in the desert and ... well, We have to travel for "nippy" except in Winter when it drops down to 48 F at night. Brrrrr. So I am hoping you were successful in the marathon... well done. F/L
