Description
Cadillac Ranch, located on the side of Interstate 40 in Amarillo, Texas, is an art installation that is famous for burying eight Cadillacs nose-down into the dirt. The installation was created by three artists, collectively known as Ant Farm, back in 1974. They approached a millionaire ranch-owner for a place to bury the Cadillacs in celebration of the evolution of the Cadillac tail fin, and he was happy to accommodate them. Visitors are encouraged to spray paint graffiti on the installation, making it an interactive piece of art. Check out my Roadside Attractions Gallery for more photographs and the history of Cadillac Ranch.
