Have you ever wondered why your beloved feline has those fascinating vertical pupils? Well, the reason is quite simple. Cats are ambush predators and are mostly active during the night. To effectively hunt their prey, they need to be able to gauge depth accurately. Hence, their pupils are shaped vertically, allowing them to judge distance more precisely and pounce on their prey with great accuracy.

I've returned to my roots in Kansas after spending 45 years in Los Angeles. My passion for photography has always been an essential part of me, and I never leave home without my camera.
