Freeways and particularly, the interchanges that connect them, are a feat of engineering and design. Thanks for sharing your image in the Art in Architecture group. I particularly like the way you processed your image limiting the colours to only a few. For me, it tends to show all the people on the freeway or "parking lot" as a homogeneous group.

Artist's Description

One of the most heavily trafficked freeway interchanges in Los Angeles, if not the entire country, is the 405 freeway. It has become a common cliché in Los Angeles that the 405 freeway is the “worst; it is not just a roadway, but also an elongated parking lot where no hope of mobility can merge.” There's even a Twitter account dedicated to expressing hatred towards the 405 freeway, which is aptly named @the405sucks. Its bio reads: "I'm Interstate 405 in LA & OC... the worst freeway ever. Born in hell. Built in 1964." It was my daily commute.

About Jenny Revitz Soper

Jenny Revitz Soper

I've returned to my roots in Kansas after spending 45 years in Los Angeles. My passion for photography has always been an essential part of me, and I never leave home without my camera. I strive to capture the extraordinary in the ordinary, using clever juxtapositions, contradictions, bursts of color, and touches of whimsy. My photography is a true expression of how I perceive the world, staying authentic and genuine to myself. I believe it is the artist's vision that produces art, and I appreciate every method and technique utilized to achieve that vision. Occasionally, I use digital applications and artificial intelligence to produce my final vision. If you're interested in owning my art, FAA offers multiple ways to enjoy it, including...
