💀 - A wonderfully weird and almost scary photograph Jenny. Congrats on your sale. - Sometimes it is very odd what people buy. I made a really ghastly portrait of that evil 'Hitler Thing' - and someone bought it ! ? 💀

Artist's Description

During the celebration of the Day of the Dead, it is a common tradition for the pre-deceased to sit on blankets next to gravesides and enjoy the favorite foods of their dearly departed friends. Toys are also brought for children who have passed away, and bottles of tequila or beer for adults. The libations are often poured onto the grass above graves for the deceased to enjoy. Pan de muerto, a sweet egg bread often decorated with white frosting to look like twisted bones, is passed around to everyone. Moreover, candied sugar skulls with the names of the deceased written on the forehead are eaten by loved ones. These proceedings often last until the next day.

There are companion pieces in my Religious Images gallery. They were all taken on Olvera Street in Los Angeles, California. One of the merchants had these characters displayed for sale in his window.

I appreciate every method and technique an artist uses to achieve that vision. I sometimes use digital applications as well as...
