Description
A ritual mask wearer loses human identity and turns into the spirit represented by the mask itself. This transformation relies on other practices, such as music, dance, or ritual costumes that contribute to concealing the mask-wearer's earthly identity. The mask wearer thus becomes a medium between the community and the dead or nature-related spirits.
