An abandoned house on South 15th Street, Independence, Kansas. The house is old, surrounded by bare trees. The upstairs back room contains several withered windows with the curtains pulled back on one. Who is looking out?

The image was captured in daylight and shows an eerie and frightening scene. The haunting photograph was taken by Jenny Revitz Soper, a Kansas-based photographer known for her eclectic art photography. This work is a contest winner (placed third in the Creepy-Scary-Spooky Image Contest 10/29/2017) and has received critical acclaim.
