Big Bear Lake is a small city located in Southern California, nestled in the San Bernardino Mountains along the south shore of Big Bear Lake. It is surrounded by the San Bernardino National Forest and has been featured in several movies and TV shows, including Daniel Boone, Gone with the Wind, Disney's Old Yeller, the 1969 musical film Paint Your Wagon, the 1983 movie War Games, the opening to NBC's children's program HR Pufnstuf and the ending scene in Better Off Dead. In 2015, we traveled up the mountain for the weekend and were greeted by the beautiful sight of mountain flowers in bloom, waving their heads at us and begging to be photographed.
I've returned to my roots in Kansas after spending 45 years in Los Angeles. My passion for photography has always been an essential part of me, and I never leave home without my camera. I strive to capture the extraordinary in the ordinary, using clever juxtapositions, contradictions, bursts of color, and touches of whimsy. My photography is a true expression of how I perceive the world, staying authentic and genuine to myself. I believe it is the artist's vision that produces art, and I appreciate every method and technique utilized to achieve that vision.
