The Crucifix is part of the Vatican Splendors collection shown at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, California Spring/Summer 2016.
The exhibition contains more than 200 extraordinary historical and religious objects, from a reliquary alleged to contain bone fragments of Saints Peter and Paul, to works of art by Guercino, Bernino, Michelangelo and others. Vatican Splendors only travels every other year and had not been on the West Coast since 2004.
I've returned to my roots in Kansas after spending 45 years in Los Angeles. My passion for photography has always been an essential part of me, and I never leave home without my camera. I strive to capture the extraordinary in the ordinary, using clever juxtapositions, contradictions, bursts of color, and touches of whimsy. My photography is a true expression of how I perceive the world, staying authentic and genuine to myself. I believe it is the artist's vision that produces art, and I appreciate every method and technique utilized to achieve that vision.
