Description
The Sinclair Pipeline Company building. Harry F. Sinclair, founder of Sinclair Oil Company was a native of Independence, Kansas. The Sinclair company eventually was acquired by Atlantic Richfield Inc., or Arco, in 1969. The international conglomerate used the five-story Independence building as the global headquarters for its pipeline subsidiary: Arco Pipeline Company. The building became a commercial office complex after Arco moved the local offices to its corporate headquarters in Long Beach, Calif., in 1993. At this time it is closed and for sale.
