Description
A French Art Deco marble mantle clock with bronze figures of a woman feeding two gazelles was found in a B&B in San Francisco's Alamo Square Historic District. The clock design was heavily influenced by Art Deco in the 1920s and 30s, which reflected the machine-inspired aesthetic of the fast-paced industrial age. French mantel clocks made of marble, onyx, brass, glass, and chrome were popular, often accompanied by bronze figurines of Diana the Huntress, lovebirds, and gazelles.
This clock is the fourth in the series, featuring a black-and-white (monochrome) version with a geometric overlay.
